Using Import Tables

Important: The export file must be created in Export Tables before it can be imported.

1. When you first enter the Import Tables option, a Files Available for Import selection box will display the following information:

 

Scroll to the file on the list and press Enter. An asterisk (*) will appear, confirming your selection. Or, press F9 to select all files. When you are finished selecting files, press F10 to continue.

You may also use the "Select File" option to bring up a Windows selection box. Select the appropriate file and click on the OK button to select.

 

2. Command options will appear:

 

Select Validate.

If the import file has both an import XLS file and an import DBF file, command options will appear:

 

Select which file format to use for the import. The import DBF file can be created if the initial attempt to import the file failed due to errors. See below for more information.

Note: If a DBF file is selected for import the Q_screen will display – the Fields Available screen will not display.

4. A Fields Available for Import window will appear. Scroll to the fields to be imported and press Enter to select. An asterisk (*) will appear confirming your selection. Press F9 to select all fields for import. Press F10 when finished.

5. The Q_screen will display the details for the files and fields selected to be imported, allowing you to review and change the information, if necessary.

Important: Changes made in the Q_screen will not update the export file. To save the changes the export file must be changed.

Press F10.

6. The following message will display: "Validate (table name)? No/Yes."

 

The system will now go through and validate all of the tables.

If there are no errors the following message will appear: "Update Net Yield with (table name).xls? No/Yes."

 

Select yes to update. You will return to the System menu. The import process is complete. The Net•Yield table for the export file selected will be updated for the records that were added or modified. Existing records cannot be deleted through the import/export process.

If any errors or problems are found during the validation process a pop-up window will appear. Print the file from the browser. The file is also saved and is located in the Shared\NetYield\Date\CompanyName\Import folder and is called Export file name_phase_problems.html. Review the Problem.html and make proper corrections to the export file or supporting tables and restart the import process.

The problem.html file lists the following information.

 

If errors are found The following message will also appear: "Save import file as database? No/Yes."

 

The following message will display: "Create required table export files?No/Yes."
